Sawitri Khan - Indonesian model from Bali - walks in Lisbon Fashion Week

Sawitri Khan hit this year's Lisbon Fashion week working for Ricardo Andrez, Gonçalo Peixoto, Luis Buchinho, Kolorvrat and Valentim Quaresma. The show took place in Lisbon 8th and 9th of October. Later that week, Sawitri starred in another Portuguese fashion show walking as the opening model in Portugal Fashion Show Porto for Orange Cultura Nigeria.

Lisbon Fashion Week - Portugal major fashion event

ModaLisboa - Lisbon Fashion Week is the main project of the ModaLisboa Association, founded in 1991 in partnership with Lisbon City Council, and is the most recognised fashion event in Portugal. It presents the collections of Portuguese fashion designers seasonally in March and October, with the mission of promoting the best of Portuguese fashion to the world.

The event is directed at a professional audience made up of the press, buyers, the textile industry, as well as guests of the designers and representatives of artistic, cultural, business and institutional areas. Each year it is visited by over 25 000
Visitors, gathering over 1 000 000 TV and Online Public and over 450 journalists and reporters.

At the 59th Lisboa Fashion Week, the Designers cement their commitment to creativity, which goes beyond the content of the collections and is rooted in performative diversity.

Starting point of this edition of the fashion week were themes such as climate urgency and technological proficiency. MODALISBOA OASIS hosted the Santa Casa da Misericórdia de Lisboa (SCML) project which aims to deconstruct social representations, stereotypes and discrimination about ageing: Beleza Não Tem Idade is the materialization of an ongoing effort to promote intergenerationality focused on people: SCML users and public figures celebrate the synergy between generations.

An Indonesian touch in Portuguese fashion

One of the headliners of this year's show was Sawitri Khan, a model originally from Indonesia. Sawitri travelled to Lisbon between her photoshoots for Guerlain in Paris and her opening walk for the Orange Cultura Nigerian in Porto, Portugal.

Sawitri has been living and working in Europe since 2018. She has worked for brands such as Adidas, Puma, Zalando, Farfetch, Sinsay and Guerlain. She is represented worldwide by Rebel Models, in Portugal by Just Models, in Germany by Modelwerk, in France by Metropolitan Models, in Italy by Manifesto Models, in Norway by Citizen Management, in Switzerland by Visage and in Spain by Fifth Models.

Prior to moving to Europe Sawitri has been living and worked in Jakarta, where she was represented by Native Models. Her clients included Tangan Official, Iwan Tirta, Ikat Indonesia, FBudy, Dew Magazine, Biyan Official and Gucci. Currently, in Indonesia, she is represented by Kick Management.

In addition to her modeling work, Sawitri is remotely studying Business and Management at Binus University in Jakarta.
